Full and Partial Dentures in Apex, NC

Couple smiling and laughing at dinner in Apex NCMissing teeth can negatively impact your life in so many ways.

You might feel self-conscious about smiling, and you might be limited in what you can eat. If you have ever worn ill-fitting dentures, you know that they can be both frustrating and embarrassing.

At Olive Chapel Family Dentistry, we strive to create esthetic and functional dentures to improve the lives of our patients and help them get their smiles back!

Complete (Full) Dentures

Missing all your teeth on either your upper or lower arch will mean that you need complete dentures.

If you have memories of your grandparents’ dentures, they are probably not favorable – big, boxy dentures that required pastes and gels to stay put and looked generic or the wrong size. You will be happy to know that modern dentures have come a long way both in fit and appearance.

Today, we can choose denture teeth that complement your appearance, are age-appropriate, and look natural. We will discuss your goals for your appearance and go from there. Once we have chosen denture teeth that look great, we will create a pink resin base to hold them in place.

Lower dentures may require some help, especially if you have experienced bone loss. We can place a few dental implants to hold your teeth in place so that you can eat a more varied diet.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures use your remaining teeth as an anchor to securely hold them. They snap into place with brackets and will complete your smile and your chewing surface. Taking care of your natural teeth is essential to the function of your partial dentures.

We match your denture to your existing teeth, giving you an attractive smile. Partial denture bases come in flexible plastic, hard acrylic, and metal. Dr. Dustin Prusik will discuss your needs and help you determine what will work best for you.

Implant-Retained Dentures

For both partial and complete dentures, we can use a few dental implants to “lock-in” your denture, giving you added security as well as the bone-saving benefits dental implants provide.

We can determine how many implants will be necessary to give you a secure bite.

Maintaining Healthy Teeth and Gums

Even if you have dentures, keeping your regular dental exams is necessary. We will check your denture or partial for any damage, verify that they fit properly, and clean them for you. We will also perform an oral cancer screening and monitor your bone levels as part of your preventive dentistry treatment.
